It's a possibility but you would have to do it in combination with several other things like change the air intake and changing the exhaust this way the whole line get's adjusted which gives the most benifit.
Personally I would say turbo it. This takes some more time and money but the effect is much more

Aha.

Can you advise a good air intake to me?
Now I have got an OEM-air-intake.

Also I have got an Sebring-Exhaust.
But with an OEM-catalyser.

I asked at HGP for a turbokit. But I don't get an answer yet.
They have got a turbokit for the Mazda MX-5 (Miata) 1.6 for 4.800 EUR.
It's really expensive.

only you must buy a intercooler and blow off valve and piping etc

Only a Turbo gives a engine not much horsepower but with ajustments of the chip and camshafts you gain a lot more power and you can always boost it with a higher pressure but is less safe

But the main reason that people are in love with a turbo is because it dont give that much HP but it gives an very high torque and that is what you need with sprints

Nos.. nitrous express.

but for 450 you have to buy an used set on ebay or something,
for approx.650 euros you'll have an new one.
if you spend a bit more you can get more show effect, especcially when you also get a purge system.

-The turbo kit @ jeroentje is for the SOHC anyway.

-The DOHC does 0-100 a bit faster compared to the SOHC, not 10,5 sec. as said before, but 9,7 sec. Not a huge difference, but still ;)

Have you ever considered a powerboost valve? It's much cheaper. You won't gain as much hp as chiptuning, but torque will improve and it should compensate more then enough for the 18".
